Almost everyone loves gold and the word
“almost” has been used here because humans are different and they can never
have the same taste. Think about nihilism and nihilist and you’d know how
mindboggling human beings can be. Back to the topic, if you love gold then you
must know that there are millions and billions of other people in the world who
love gold just the same. After all, it is so elegant, sexy, striking, shiny,
valuable, precious, different, and expensive, and all the good adjectives you
could think of. Look at the graph of its rising price – it’s like a sight of an
airplane’s takeoff.
Humans have loved gold since times we
couldn’t fathom and even in the old times it was
just as precious as it is today. At times people can be so much in love with it that they take joy in drinking some liquors containing gold in them. Old tribes have used them more for ornamental purposes and they used to present gold ornament as offerings to their gods. Even today in many polytheistic societies and cultures it is being offered to gods and India is a great example of this practice in today’s world.

Read the history of Egyptians and you
will know that they were just as much infatuated by gold as most of us are
today. They considered it from the gods, the Sun God to be precise and the most
important figures in the society, like the kings and queens, were put into gold
caskets. Gold coins and objects have been thrown in rivers, seas and lakes by
various ancient tribes from around the world as tokens for gods to be merciful
to the people. African culture also decorated the castles and palaces of their
leaders with gold and it’s true that most of the gold in the world has come
from this region.
Women of South Asian countries,
especially India and Pakistan with India being the largest consumer of this
precious metal today, are known around the world for wearing large amounts of
gold. The dowry system includes gold as an integral part in these regions. The
royal dynasties of China have also been known around the world for extensive
use of gold in decorations and creation of metallic utensils. Even the Greeks
were behind anyone in mining gold and they in fact crossed boundaries and
reached Middle Eastern countries in search of gold and recent findings have
proves of their mines.
How could you forget about the gold
medals given at Olympics to the winners? Even the Nobel Prize and many other
trophies given at different events are made from gold to value the status,
position and presence of a person. Pot of gold, band of gold, golden years,
gold digger, silver and gold etc. are just some of the popular songs about
gold. So don’t be hesitant to love gold for its expensive price; after all,
preciousness is bound to be expensive. Keep your spirits alive and be different
just like gold.
